Notes:honestly_undone told me she'd like a story about Wash and cheese. This is what my maligned brain came up with. If nothing else, I am amused.
Not Out of Gas
Wash had gas. And not the uncomfortable quiet kind that could be hidden in the cockpit and blamed on a leaking line. No, this was the kind that echoed down Serenity's hull, creeped out of the cockpit and down into the crew's sleeping quarters.
Zoe approached him, her nose only twitching slightly.
"Honey?" she asked. "I don't mean to—"
"I swear I stayed away from the cheese!" Wash burst. "I swear!"
A particularly loud fart disagreed with his exclamation. He cringed.
Zoe placed a small can of deotorizing spray on Serenity's console. She backed away. "I'm just going to shut the door."
She was kind enough not to laugh until it was firmly shut.
