Not Like That


Amaunet knows what love is; she has felt it in the strength of Apophis' embrace, in the possession of his kiss, and in the rumbling voice that declares, "Mine."

But when she closes her eyes, love is different. It is soft, too long, sandy-blond hair and wide blue eyes wearing glasses that goa'uld never need. It is a gentle hand stroking her cheek. Love is a tender voice whispering, "I'm coming for you."

Amaunet knows love. She pulls it from the mind of her host, worries it between her fingers, and knows that she'll never have it. Not like that.

Scary because the emotion is so alien to her and she's studying it, curious, maybe even a little repelled, but still fascinated despite herself. i wonder how much the Goa'uld are influenced, despite their protestations, by their hosts.

Although there's no reason they can't love; they can certainly hate...

Very interesting. I didn't think of it like that. Wow. I like that reading—the repulsion.

I tend to think of the goa'uld much like Joss's vampires. So while they probably can't have true love, they can love. Although there are some who completely depise any feelings that are remotely human (I always think that Osiris falls into that after losing Isis).

I'm sure the goa'uld are influenced by their hosts. That's basically what we see in "Abyss."

My Daniel and Remus get along quite well. Sirius is a little suspicious of Daniel, though, because Daniel is so brainy and so damn manly.
